Carolina Rodríguez
Soprano

 

CAROLINA RODRIGUEZ, Venezuelan soprano, is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Indiana University's Early Music Institute. From 1996 to 2001, she directed Bloomington's Ensemble Ensalada. She has performed as a soloist both in the U.S. and Latin America with groups such as Camerata de Caracas and Musicam Sacram de Venezuela, the Indiana University Pro-Arte Singers, Bloomington Early Music Festival (BLEMF) and with Tragicommedia as part of the Amherst Early Music Festival (AEM). Recent solo performances include the role of Celfa in the BLEMF production of La Púrpura de la Rosa, Schütz's Musikalisches Exequiem under the direction of Joshua Rifkin, Händel's Messiah with the Dayton Philharmonic, and Bach's Magnificat and B-Minor Mass with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Rodríguez recently relocated to the Washington D.C. area, where she teaches voice and sings in various professional ensembles. In addition to performing and teaching, Ms. Rodríguez can bake a legendary batch of brownies and is an experi enced bicycle mechanic.
